"A Vintage Bamboo Hunting or Riding Crop" T his crop measures 23.5 inches from the end of the shaft to the heel of the handle. It is in sound used condition. The nicely shaped authentic stag antler handle measures 5 inches from front to back, with cross-hatching on its underside, and it is firmly attached to the shaft. T he interesting and unusual sterling silver  ferrule is of cleverly plaited silver wire, tightly bound with no fraying, loose strands or unravelling - very sturdy. T he shaft is of nicely figured bamboo cane, again in good condition, with no splits or cracks with a nice original patina. The leather keeper is unusual in being constructed of two "leaves" of leather, both strong and supple and securely attached to the shaft with neat whipping. T his vintage, probably Edwardian, good quality and very individual hunting crop is robust with bags of character, and will give good service in the field or the show ring for many years to come. Ideal Christmas gift for the sporting equestrianist! It is in very good condition, no damage or wear, no rubbing to the gold plating. It has  a sprung loop on the reverse which clips it in position on the tie. Probably never been off the backing card, which is covered in red flock and held within the original box, which is of white plastic with a cellulose lid. T his vintage good quality and nicely "kitsch" imitation gold tie-clip would make an ideal Christmas stocking-filler for the sporting equestrianist!
