Bought off here last week but just not wide enough for my cob no wither mare. Sat on it though and found it very comfortable and leg supportive. It's 11 inches d to d and 6.5 inches through the gullet. In really good condition no wear in suede at all. Unfortunately it's non changeable gullet and has no blocks though with those big puffy knee rolls probably won't need them...

Details about   Side Saddle brown 16.5"

I have for sale this English leather side saddle. The saddle has a leather seat and heads and is in need of some repair. The saddle measures 16.5" from the very back of the cut back head and 17" from the very front of the cut back head. The seat approx 13" wide at the widest point and the nearside flap is approx 16" wide and 12" deep from the roller bar. The saddle has a roller stirrup bar so must always be used with a suitable safety stirrup. I would think that this saddle is a narrow/medium to narrow fit. I believe that this saddle is around 100 years old and it is in need of repair to bring it back to its best. The saddle shows signs of wear, tear and repair throughout including several areas of loose and repaired stitching (especially to the seat seams), scuffs, a few worm holes and a few small tears (please study photos). Both heads also need some attention. Other than a few small areas the serge lining appears in reasonable condition. Some, if not all, of the straps will need to be replaced and there is an area on the near side point packet that will need a repair (both point pockets seem to have had some attention already). Finally, there is a slight crease running across the seat and while I cannot feel any break in the tree I am not an expert so I recommend that you have the saddle checked by a saddler. Having said all the above the saddle is actually quite nice. I have had this saddle in my small collection for some time and I am fond of it but it is now time that it stopped gathering dust and had a useful life once again. Once repaired it may prove suitable for someone who would like to try side saddle before deciding to invest a large amount of money in a top quality saddle. The saddle has a low starting price and there is no reserve.  I will happily have the saddle back if it proves unsuitable.

Details about   Side Saddle 18" brown medium fit

I offer for sale this 18" leather seated English side saddle.  The saddle is a generous medium width fitting. The seat is 13.5" at the widest part and the near side flap length is 17" from the seat seam and just over 13" from the top of the skirt. The saddle does not carry a makers name plate but it is clearly a good quality saddle with a flat style seat and wide heads.  It has what I believe to be a Champion and Wilton style stirrup bar. Sorry, but the leather, iron and balance girth are all missing. As would be expected for a saddle of this age it shows general signs of wear and tear throughout with a few old worm holes and several scuffs, marks and repairs. There is a tear on the skirt which will require repair, some/all of the girth straps will need to be replaced and the heads will need some attention.  Other than a couple of tiny holes the serge lining seems in a reasonable condition. With a little attention this will be a super saddle which will hopefully have years of useful life ahead of it.  This is the last saddle I shall be selling from my small collection for some time. I will accept return of the saddle if it proves unsuitable.

Newly made OFF SIDE side saddle for a draft horse. The riders legs go to the right hand side. Size XW Tree, 18" diagonal points. 18"length of Seat, 14"width of seat. This saddle is for a very wide horse. I designed the tree to be flatter and broader to accommodate a true draft horse with no/minimal withers.  This one has a regular stirrup bar, with the counter part stirrup leather. A collaspable iron MUST be used. Imported leather with English sent metal parts, fine suede seat and pommels, wool flocking. This is a non jumping saddle. It is not reinforced enough to absorb the pressure a jumping side saddle demands. This saddle comes with an adjustable stirrup leather and balance strap. You will need to provide a safety iron and girth. I do sell draft girths, 60" upwards if needed, but you will have better idea what size to order once the saddle is on your horse. This was our first saddle, called the 'Malone'. I took them to Beta years ago, they have also appeared at the Side Saddle Nationals for the past 3 years. They are great starter saddles, but I am focusing on our European saddle now, which can be made for a draft horse, but these last few will not be continued.
