When I used the old fashioned collar she would get sore and the metal would rub, this collar almost moulds to the shape of your pony, I regularly condition mine to keep it supple, she shows no discomfort or wariness when fitted and even drops her head to have it fitted. I had a miserable mare who's stomach always rumbled and who's droppings were more like cow pats, after just a few days of wearing her new collar she was a different horse. I'm not saying that all horses will benefit from wearing a collar, but mine certainly did, and touch wood has never suffered any signs or symptoms of colic.
