Part of a collection manufactured at the beginning of the last century in the central valleys of the Caucasus.Pile, in perfect condition, is shallow (.5 cm) which is normal for the type.Carpet in 100% wool (pile, warp and weft) with a knot density of /mΒ².The quality of the materials, the lamb wool and 100% natural colours, combined with the patina of time, bring out an harmonious palette with warm shades: The dominant colours are brick-red and navy blue, khaki + cerulean blue, sky blue, light ochre, ecru and antique pink.The field of this superb carpet, on a red-brick background, is adorned with three large octagons (two in navy-blue at the top and bottom and one in khaki-green at the centre).
