Late Victorian painted wall cabinet with leaded-light plain glass rebated doors and ceramic knob. All the glass is clean and intact without cracks and the doors close firmly and squarely. There is one shelf inside and a row of dowel hooks. Could be used to display ornaments or trophies or maybe used as a key cupboard. You will see from the pictures that a hole has been cut in the back presumably for a plug but this does not detract from this delightful cabinet and could easily be pieced in if required. Condition is remarkably good, with most blemishes being original from the kiln firing. There are 28 items in total, including the two vegetable dish lids. Dimensions are: - 5 x Dinner Plates of 10" diam 2 x Salad Plates of 9 1/8" diam 12 x Side plates of 7 7/8" diam 1 x Oval Serving Dish of " x x Oval Serving Dishes of " x x Vegetable Dishes of " max diam x 5" high 2 x Sauce boats I cannot see any more of this pattern on offer either in the UK or US, so I do not know of any pattern name. Christmas - victorian Tunbridge ware-banded walnut Jewelry box

This is a genuine Victorian Tunbridge ware banded jewellery box. The exact date is not known and there is no date or makers mark that I can see. this box measures inches (30 cm). it is 5 inches tall with the lid shut, 8 inches deep. there is no significant damage to the marquetry, but there is some overall wear and tear on the box particularly the lid (See photograph). it also includes a insert for jewels although this box has been used for a sewing box. this box has recently been restored by a time served French polisher. lock and hinges are considered to be original, although it does come with a key, this is not the original key on the box does not lock or unlock with this key A beautiful box with a wonderful feel, great as a Christmas present for someone special if you are in Liverpool, feel free to come and view.
