Stunning Barry Swain Working Hunter saddle. 17.5 inch seat.  Wide to extra wide.  Swede seat.  Brown leather.. Excellent condition.  A few minor scratches but nothing major. All stitching and leather is intact. Measurements are as accurate as possible... 9.5 inches from where the D ring would sit. 7.5 inches from top billet to billet.  11.5 inches width from lower billet to billet.  6.5 inch gullet.

This is an old but very useful saddle. I've used it for BE eventing and a friend has used it on a horse that was otherwise impossible to fit. Horses seem to love it. It is currently fitted for a wide horse but I believe it can be altered by Barrie Swain. Has short straps for a long girth. Brown serge panels. Wide surface area. In fantastic condition, no scuffs/marks. Always looked after. If I'm honest, it is quite a hard seat, but I'm quite skinny! I've put up with it because the horse's comfort comes first. Read More

Semi Flex Holistic GP saddle 17.5 inch Serial number Black  Leather with serge covered wool flocked panels I believe it has a wide gullet.   Measures approx 10 inches from D ring to D ring- I'm never sure about the usefulness of this measurement as it depends where you put the tapemeasure - but see photos for a general guide! Moveable knee blocks Also has velcro for thigh blocks but blocks are missing. Easily replaced. Bought for £ new in and has had regular use for 5 years. Really beautifully looked after-immaculate used condition. One small scratch on the saddle flap (see photo). This is under where your leg goes so wouldn't notice when you're riding. See below for more detailed information on Semi-flex saddles: Freedom Holistic SemiFlex saddles are bespoke saddles developed by Barrie Swain, and manufactured in Walsall, England. The SemiFlex tree moves with the horse and allows the rider to feel and connect with that movement.  If the saddle cannot flex with the horse's spine it will restrict the normal curvature and movement of the spine, therefore the horse will not be able to maintain natural balance and the rider will feel unconnected. As the horse develops and grows stronger he will change shape dramatically. It is imperative the saddle can allow for this. If it cannot and it becomes too narrow the solid points of the tree will bear down on the  withers under the weight of the rider, causing discomfort and distorted musculature.
