18" measured stud to cantell and " pommel to cantell black dressage saddle with fantastic big knee blocks which are fitted to the saddle panel so that the saddle flap is shaped to accommodate that  making for a good close contact feel,lovely shape to the seat and inlayed panel on the back of the cantell  .recently it had a new tree and girth straps fitted by barry swain of walsaw [which cost over £400] i have used it 3 times since for an hour each time fantastic to ride on lovely wide wait bearing panells a highly sought after saddle sadly only for sale horse now retired from dressage as a hack viewing welcome please note i do not accept returns  photos of width not very clear but measures approx 10"

Humphries & Swain semi-flex holistic saddle. 17.5 inch seat. Approx 9 inches D to D. On a semi-flex tree. Cloth backed so you can use it without a saddle cloth / numnah if you wish to do so. A couple of small marks on it here and there as expected of a second hand saddle. The saddle has had very little use and been in store for a while.  A lovely comfortable quality saddle to ride in. Semi Flex Holistic GP saddle 17.5 inch Serial number Black  Leather with serge covered wool flocked panels I believe it has a wide gullet.   Measures approx 10 inches from D ring to D ring- I'm never sure about the usefulness of this measurement as it depends where you put the tapemeasure - but see photos for a general guide! Moveable knee blocks Also has velcro for thigh blocks but blocks are missing. Easily replaced. Bought for £ new in and has had regular use for 5 years. Really beautifully looked after-immaculate used condition. One small scratch on the saddle flap (see photo). This is under where your leg goes so wouldn't notice when you're riding. See below for more detailed information on Semi-flex saddles: Freedom Holistic SemiFlex saddles are bespoke saddles developed by Barrie Swain, and manufactured in Walsall, England. The SemiFlex tree moves with the horse and allows the rider to feel and connect with that movement.  If the saddle cannot flex with the horse's spine it will restrict the normal curvature and movement of the spine, therefore the horse will not be able to maintain natural balance and the rider will feel unconnected. As the horse develops and grows stronger he will change shape dramatically. It is imperative the saddle can allow for this. If it cannot and it becomes too narrow the solid points of the tree will bear down on the  withers under the weight of the rider, causing discomfort and distorted musculature. Blood flow will be restricted and  tissue damage can occur. These problems are eliminated by the SemiFlex system. The SemiFlex tree flexes from front to back when the rider sits, and the points flex in and out with the  horse's movement, providing optimum comfort for the horse. SemiFlex GP A wide flat supportive seat features in this general purpose saddle. Fitted with wide serge covered, wool flocked panels for a large weight bearing area which moulds easily to the horse's back profile.  Made from the highest quality buffalo hide which is softer and more flexible than normal hide and requires no breaking in but is just as durable. This extra softness allows a better contact with the sides of the horse. Brown English made GP  by Barrie Swain. British standard on the stirrup bar and serial number stamped on the plate.  Very comfy. With a full french serge panel with quilting on the sweatflap. Good knee block. Scrumph hide on the seat and knees. Good all round saddle - would look equally neat in the show ring for WH. Measures just over 17" from stud to centre of cantle.  Measures a good 8" across the dee's. This is a nice medium fit. Flap measures 15" from stirrup bar to bottom.  Tree is sound. The stitching is strong and girth straps are sound and solid. Normal signs of  use. Nice wool flocked panels are soft and even. Beautiful leather quality, soft and supple throughout. Has a small repair to the underside of the panel where the serge has worn slightly - not seen or felt in use. Please see pic. Pics really do not do this saddle justice. This is a rare second hand Black St Merryn Working Hunter saddle, designed by Heather Moffett and made by Barrie Swain in Walsall, UK. 17" doeskin seat and knee pads and hard wearing buffalo hide flaps. The St Merryn is built on Aulton and Butler Holistic tree, which moves with the back of the horse, giving greater freedom of movement. The seat features an exclusive seamfree Seatbone Saver memory foam top built in. Wide half Owen panels, wool flocked and covered in serge which is soft and moulds to the horse's back.
