This is a lovely large trunk it has the original locks on the front but the hinges have been replaced, it has a few dings and knocks which you would expect from something over 100 years old but it very solid. It has the wheels on the bottom to make moving easier and has no woodworm or ever has had. Its 30"w x 19"D x 23"H and has been lined in period material.

Vintage dome top steamer trunk

Unrestored Victorian steamer/rail travel trunk with beech wood and metal banding, brass lock and original paper interior. Constructed of solid wood it still has a lot of the original tooled leather covering and also has the original top storage section, which is usually missing. There are two clasps, one each side of the lock, but the leather handles on the sides of the trunk are missing. The under belly has a metal bottom with two wooden runners and small inset wheels. Included are the remnants of a couple of passenger rail tickets (date unknown) which were used on the London Brighton South line. Measurements: 32.5 inches long, 19 inches wide, 21 inches high (top of dome). Collection only. Ad ID:

This is a lovely old Victorian travel trunk. It has a dome or barrel shape top and is bound with wood and brass. The wood has a brown leather covering. The trunk is in good solid vintage condition and would make a great storage chest. The inside has the original striped paper lining, which is quite tatty and could be replaced. The lid needs an adjustment as it doesn't quite fit into the locks, although this doesn't stop it from closing. 2 castors are missing but, as the remaining 2 disappear into the base when on the floor it still stands on the level. it measures 60 cm wide by 48 cm high, and weighs 10 kilos. Louis Vuitton Trunk Case - Steamer Trunk - Antique - Coffee

Louis Vuitton Trunk - Orange Vuittonite This trunk dates from circa and considering its age and the extensive traveling it has endured the trunk is in great condition. The construction of the case consists of a strong wooden frame wrapped with the rare orange vuittonite canvass and finished with brown leather protective trims, and branded studs, clasps and latches. Both serial numbers can be found on the inside of the lid and below the main clasp. These can identify where and when the trunk was made. The Trunk was owned by C F A Pantin who we believe was a British Zoologist educated at Christ College Cambridge. Pantin was elected as a fellow of the Royal Society in and won the Royal medal in . He went on to become the president of the Marine Biological Association. More information can be found out about him on Wikipedia. Measurements Length - 101 cm Width - 53 cm Height - 34.5 cm This would make a wonderful coffee table or center piece for any room. Condition As can be expected from an antique trunk of this age there are marks and scuffs to both the fabric and the leather to the exterior of the case (Please study photos). The interior, although in great condition, is missing the internal tray and in one corner, on the underside of the lid, the fabric has come away due to a missing fabric pin.
