Large Antique Vintage Leather Suitcase With Leather Straps, Metal Catches and Working Original Handle. Plenty of history, has a large paper sticker saying "Cook's Cabin" and another "Cardiff". The Interior is in Great condition. The Catches have USA engraved on them and the case is personalised with the initials D.A D.A.W. The catches do work but are not trustworthy. Louis Vuitton Trunk Case - Steamer Trunk - Antique - Coffee

Louis Vuitton Trunk - Orange Vuittonite This trunk dates from circa and considering its age and the extensive traveling it has endured the trunk is in great condition. The construction of the case consists of a strong wooden frame wrapped with the rare orange vuittonite canvass and finished with brown leather protective trims, and branded studs, clasps and latches. Both serial numbers can be found on the inside of the lid and below the main clasp. These can identify where and when the trunk was made. The Trunk was owned by C F A Pantin who we believe was a British Zoologist educated at Christ College Cambridge. Pantin was elected as a fellow of the Royal Society in and won the Royal medal in . He went on to become the president of the Marine Biological Association. More information can be found out about him on Wikipedia. Measurements Length - 101 cm Width - 53 cm Height - 34.5 cm This would make a wonderful coffee table or center piece for any room. Condition As can be expected from an antique trunk of this age there are marks and scuffs to both the fabric and the leather to the exterior of the case (Please study photos). The interior, although in great condition, is missing the internal tray and in one corner, on the underside of the lid, the fabric has come away due to a missing fabric pin.
