It’s from a series originally published under the title "The English Traveller" by Thomas Read between and . This is a copy of the map revised by the surveyor John Rocque (fl.) for his "Small English Atlas" in and this map dates from the ’s. Decorated with a compass rose and a small view of Dover Castle. The map is a copper line engraving on paper and has been hand colour. Overall size 10 ¾ x 9 ½ inches. Map area approx. 8 x 6 ½ inches.. In excellent clean condition. Professionally framed and glazed.
