An 18th century mahogany wooden tea caddy manufactured during the English George III period about . The tea caddy is made from pine, oak and mahogany vineer and glued with very thick (hand-)sawed mahogany veneer. The tea caddy is decorated with sawed brass ornaments, key entrance and handle on the lid. In addition to all the original fittings, the hinges and lock are also original, unfortunately a working key is missing. The inside presumably once had partitions and/or compartments. The tea caddy rests on the four original cast brass claw feet. The entire tea caddy has a nice warm red-brown colour and patina and a nice satin shine due to the authentic wax layer!
