A Baroque style carved and polychrome wooden Corpus Christi
Practically carved all around, the perizonium is held together by a cord. Finely carved with beautiful feet and hands, see pictures.The corpus is of beautiful quality. It has a nice patina and a very warm serene look.Origin: this Corpus hung in the refectory above the door of an old nunnery in the region of Bruges, Belgium. Originally, however, it is in Habsburg Baroque style, probably from the Tirol region.This piece is approx. 150 years old and bears traces of wear by age and religious custom, it has some old imperfections, see pictures.
