Classic Revox A77 needs a bit of work to get it up and running, not much tho... this was at Rockfield during early seventies. I think it's distinctive sound can be heard on Dave Edmunds "I hear you knocking " I've been told it was used in the mixing by someone who was there ! It actually works fine except for the brake springs ?? which are in the back panel.they need replacing. they are very cheap. Everything else could do with a little cosmetic attention after which it will look and sound amazing. Vintage Philips Stellaphone ST471 Reel to Reel tape player

A vintage s reel to reel tape player made by Philips. Comes with microphone which hides away inside the body of the machine. Also comes with plug (I can't test this as it's an old fashoined plug!). We have tested the player with batteries in it (it takes 6 x D batteries - not included) and the right hand spindle turns when play or fast forward is pressed, but nothing happens when rewind is pressed. I can't test whether any sound comes out as I have no reel to reel tapes. There is a little damage to the case: there's a crack just behind the rewind button (see 3rd picture) and the blue translucent cover is damaged at the left hand side. I can send more photos through messages if interested, but can only put 3 on the listing. May be useful for parts if not fully operational. Collection only from Sheffield S11. Read More

Vintage 's Fidelity Reel to Reel Tape Machine.

I discovered this tape machine during a recent house move having long since forgotten about it! If my recollection is correct it was around that I got it and it has not been used for quite some time now hence being stored away in the loft. It does appear to work but some of the controls seem really stiff and the cable to the microphone is worn quite a lot so it's safe to say it would suit someone that is happy restoring old HI Fi? It also needs a good clean up generally and the rear sliding compartment door which houses the mains lead has come away. VGC Boxed Vintage retro 's AKAI DS reel to reel tape recorder

All in original boxes and original packing. DS in pristine condition, from the s, complete and fully working in all respects and including a rare plastic dust cover, modified to allow the 7 inch reels to be left in place and even run with the cover in situ. (The cover was originally of a poor design in that 7 inch reels had to be removed before it could be fitted in place.) The electronics of this particular machine have been modified to the same standard as the MkII, particularly the ever troublesome, unreliable input amplifier ICs originally used in the DS, being replaced by discrete components as in the MkII. Also twenty used-only-once 7 inch reel-to-reel tapes in good condition (of assorted brands including Ampex, EMI and Shamrock) are included in the price. (These are each selling elsewhere for between £3.50 and £12 so their inclusion is an added bonus.) 2 empty 7 inch reels are also included The users instructions and a service manual are also included. What a rare opportunity for such an excellent example of this outstanding vintage machine with all these additional goodies. Only selling due to moving abroad and we sadly cannot take everything with us. The DS MkII was a later improved version of the DS. They are 3-head machines, allowing direct monitoring of both channels of a stereo recording whilst it is being made.
