DS in pristine condition, from the s, complete and fully working in all respects and including a rare plastic dust cover, modified to allow the 7 inch reels to be left in place and even run with the cover in situ. (The cover was originally of a poor design in that 7 inch reels had to be removed before it could be fitted in place.) The electronics of this particular machine have been modified to the same standard as the MkII, particularly the ever troublesome, unreliable input amplifier ICs originally used in the DS, being replaced by discrete components as in the MkII. Also twenty used-only-once 7 inch reel-to-reel tapes in good condition (of assorted brands including Ampex, EMI and Shamrock) are included in the price. (These are each selling elsewhere for between £3.50 and £12 so their inclusion is an added bonus.) 2 empty 7 inch reels are also included The users instructions and a service manual are also included. What a rare opportunity for such an excellent example of this outstanding vintage machine with all these additional goodies. Only selling due to moving abroad and we sadly cannot take everything with us. The DS MkII was a later improved version of the DS. They are 3-head machines, allowing direct monitoring of both channels of a stereo recording whilst it is being made. Philips N - Reel to Reel 4 track Tape Recorder - Working

Here is a Philips N track tape recorder in working condition. It has had quite a few hours spent on it to restore it to working order - Residue from old belts removed, cleaned, new drive belts fitted, new clutch mechanisms fitted, new reel brake fitted. Few cosmetic blemishes, couple of small scratches, no serious damage - in good condition considering it is 50+ years old. Internal speaker is working and tape heads appear to be in good condition, back panel cover is missing. Selling as it is surplus to my requirements. More photos available on request.
