10 year old TB 16'2 TB Gelding

10 year old 16'2 TB Gelding. We have owned Felix for just over a year and have come to the conclusion that he needs a home that has more time for him. He has come a long way since we brought him but needs more work and we just don't have the time. He schools beautifully the way he carries himself is delightful he has three lovely paces and has a lovely fluid movement, I could imagine him doing a very nice dressage test. We have never taken him out competing and apart from popping him over a little jump in our school he hasn't done any jumping since we have owned him so can't really comment on his jumping ability. We are definitely what you would call a happy hacking home so haven’t taken him to shows. He is best when ridden frequently although last weekend we rode for the first time in 3 months and hacked on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday he was excited and it took longer than usual to tack him up and as soon as my husbands bottom was in the saddle he was jogging up the road! He jogged around and was generally very excitable so we only did road work. On the Sunday he was like a totally different horse, stood quietly to be tacked up, easy to mount and was cool as a cucumber so we went out for a good 2 hours and had 3 canters and a gallop. It was very pleasant hack. My husband and I mainly hack together which Felix does prefer but he has hacked alone and if he did it more I am sure he would settle much more quickly. We hack down fairly busy roads and he is fine, he does very occasionally do excited little bucks, not in nasty 'I am going to throw you off way' just I am excited and I want to go. Where he needs the most work still is on the ground he has a nervous disposition and will need a patient owner who has time to gain his trust. He isn’t at all nasty and does have stable manners he just gets nervous. We clipped him this weekend and we do it in stages so it takes 2 days rather than a few hours. He will stand to be groomed for 20 minutes and then gets fidgety, he takes longer than you average horse to tack up, nothing at all nasty he just has trust issues. He loads fine in either a box or trailer but doesn't like travelling alone, we tend to load him last and then out first to try and keep his mood as calm as possible. He can't be left in a field by himself or left on the yard by himself. He is good for the farrier and has never been lame or had any health problems. Up to date with jabs. My beautiful mare is looking for a new home. She is 16.1hh 22 years old ex-racer. Had 15 years off as a brood mare and has been back into work for 18 months. She has worked beautifully, flat, jump and hack. Very forward going and responsive and always seems to enjoy the work. Is a very young 22 year old, full of life. Recently she has bucked a few times and on having the vet out she seems to have a problem with the fitting of the saddle. I have back and confidence issues which has forced me to make this hard decision to re-home her. She's not the best at being boxed, prefers a lorry. And is a little difficult to fly spray. Is a saint apart from that. I rug her up in the field with no head collar on, trust my 4 year old running round her legs. She loves human and horse company. Fine with farm traffic, dogs, cows you name it. I can pick all 4 feet out from one side. She is the most sweet natured horse you could wish for. She needs a home either as a lightly worked semi retired riding horse, but would need a new saddle. Or as a companion horse. Only an A* home would be good enough for my girl who I genuinely am mortified I will be saying goodbye to.

I broke my foot earlier this year and have not been riding much as its giving me problems, my 14 year old daughter has been riding him for me as I feel he is being wasted but really he is a bit big for her. He has done xc and dressage in his previous home and still will does a lovely dressage test now. My daughter has been jumping him in the school which he loves. Due to a change in circumstances Ive had to make the heartbreaking decision to sell my beautiful horse Tonto (Hurst Park). Tonto is 16.1hh Irish TB, 14 years old. He's up to date with worming and teeth. He has raced in the past as a national hunt horse so would be eligible for ROR. He is a very laid back chap who's very big hearted and easy to do. Ridden In a snaffle and sensible in open spaces. He is ridden regularly on the moor by a 14 year old girl. He will go in company first or last and also hack alone. He prefers a confident rider as although safe can be a bit spooky alone but never does anything silly! Tonto has hunted and is safe but excitable! He will go through rivers and jump ditches. He loves children and is very good with traffic and large farm machinery. He is polite to lead. Tonto has very good feet and never throws shoes, he is good for the farrier and to clip. He will load but can be hesitant, but always goes in. He prefers to travel in a lorry. I'm not in any hurry to sell this lovely horse and will not just sell to anyone!
