Reluctant sale of our 13.3h 10 yr (nearly 11 yr old) old British riding pony gelding. We have owned him for nearly 4 years and over this time has been ridden by myself and my 10 yr old Daughter and before that my older Daughter. Unfortunately my 10 yr old Daughter has lost interest so we need to find him a new home. He's still in work, fit and ready to go. I would describe him as a very friendly, fun, forward going, responsive pony. He's a very pretty pony who moves nicely on the flat and over jumps. He's great on the yard and is turned out with mares and geldings, out all summer in at night in winter. He's good to catch, load, clip and shoe. He's good on the roads and will lead the ride. He can get a bit excited on a ride, once you've had a canter, we find if you let him lead he prefers it, for that reason I would say he would suit a competent lightweight adult/ teenager/ confident and competent child looking for a second pony, I wouldn't say he would be suitable for a novice. He will hack on his own but hasn't done for a while. He likes to jump and has done PC, XC, show jumping and sponsored rides. He had been attending weekly schooling lessons with my daughter Before she stopped riding but this area could do with a bit more work. No lumps, bumps, laminitis or sweet itch. Very handsome 16hh 10yr old cob x ISH gelding, Duke is a real yard favourite, coming from a long term home he is a real ‘people person’ he’s excellent to catch, clip, load, shoe, bath, in and out of the stable and is a real gentleman at all times. Duke is the meaning of a perfect all rounder, he show jumps, events, hunts, competes in dressage, hacks alone or in company and is perfect in traffic. In the arena he is very nicely schooled, he works on a consistent outline, established in his walk to canters and lateral work. He has won at numerous dressage competitions and would easily affiliate. Hacking he is completely at ease, he will go past any traffic, canter in open fields, nanny younger horses or ride and lead. He goes alone or in company and is always snaffle mouthed. He enjoys jumping a fence and isn’t phased by fillers, although not typically built for show jumping, he will pop round a cm course happily. Beautiful boy Dark brown no white markings. Vaccinated, wormed had dentist 31ST August. Barefoot strong healthy feet. Out 24/7 at the moment. Good doer only has hay and fat. Will be in at night soon. Excellent out hacking going 1st or last. Plods at the back safe ride. Not for total novice better with teenager or adult due to being can be quite strong coming in from field only after grass really just being a cheeky boy.Mainly due to this I have Oestrio arthritis and he takes the mick out of me and knows I've got no strengh and very weak shoulders and other illness is reason for sale. He is 110% in traffic sees tractors, trailors, buses, milk tankers every time we hack out as creamery only across the field. He doesnt buck, kick or rear. Can go for canter in open field doesnt tank off. Easy to stop snaffle mouth. Can be awkward to put bit in month I just use a treat when doing it. Only puts his head up or down and I cant reach or bend so treat works for me. Just being truthful. He is stunning to look at with masses of mane and tail. Loves being tied up and groomed. Stands at mounting block and waits till told to walk on. This is sad sale and he's wasted with me only ridden about once a week. Although he can be left for weeks and still the same.
