The front looks to have taken an impact from below (possibly a land mine)It was found in the East Part of Russia during agricultural works. This is a really interesting historical piece that raises many questions. The main one being - What happened to its owner??? World War Two Antique Vintage Retro Military Helmet – Zuckerman/Civilian Protective Helmet c.

A lovely World War Two Zuckerman/Civilian Protective Helmet, dated from c., still in good condition. The helmet is made of pressed steel and with its original inside liner made of leather and webbing, and string on the outside to fix the webbing into place. Still visible are the maker’s marks and the size indicator (M for medium). Many have two single holes opposite each other on the brim. These markings detail the amount of resistance the helmet offered to ballistic impact (this being the lowest, and therefore not for use as a frontline helmet). The helmet was available in a number of colours, this helmet being olive green in colour with slight surface rust due to its age. On the inside, there are two loops to attach a chin strap, and a couple of dents to the top. There is also a green paint splatter on its surface, adding to its history. I have seen these painted up for medieval battle reenactments too. Needs to go to a good home. Asking £50, or nearest offer. Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. British Army paratroops type military camouflage jacket. According to the white label inside it's a Size 7 Smocks Denison (Airborne Troops), about which I know next-to-nothing! Big and baggy, in very good condition. Brass half zip, brass poppers which say 'Newey' on them. Four front pockets, press stud flap at the back which fastens at the front, elasticated khaki cuffs, metal vent holes under the arms. Camo cloth it's made from looks hand-dyed to me and of an older canvas type, rather than modern close-weave cotton, but I'm no expert. Collar is lined in a rougher khaki material. Has a hole in the inside collar where the stitching's come undone, has a wear hole in one cuff and some fraying to the cuff edges. Other than that I see no wear or damage. Good for the militaria collector, for re-enactment or general outdoor wear, hunting, shooting, fishing, etc. Probably not very good for jumping out of planes! Not something I will ever use, but quite sought after as I understand it, so better to go to someone who will, I think. Here we have a World War 2 German Luftwaffe M40 Helmet with superb flying eagle decal and period liner with no rips. The helmet has amazing markings best I have seen. Item was stored in a dry shed in a box for 70 years. The helmet has two makers marks on the inside (Please see photos) The first one located on the left hand side of the inner rim is ET64 which means the helmet was maufactured at the The Eisenhttenwerke in Thale, Harz, Germany. The Eisenhttenwerke in Thale was the largest of all helmet production facilities during World War II (see photos of manufacture) The second makers mark is located on the inner rear rim is which denotes the run number from the batch of production.
