Chicken Ark, Hen House, Run, Hutch

Chicken Ark - 8ft 6" x 4ft 9" x 3ft. Made from tanalised treated FSC certified joinery grade redwood 10mm shiplap from Scandinavia which had a 15 year warranty to protect against rot and insect attack (I am not a business and this is a used ark so obviously I can not give any warranty or guarantee or extend/transfer the one I had when I purchased it to you). It is British made. This is a good quality ark, cost me £300 approx. 3 years ago. I treated it with 2 coats of Sadolin Quick Dry Woodstain (Rosewood) which provides 6 years protection when I first purchased the ark and it has just had another two coats of Sadolin Extra Durable at £40 a tin plus I've done the work of applying it for you. The house is 3ft 2" long with a solid plywood floor and has a large access door on one side. The run is 5ft 4" long and also has a side access door. I put my large fowl Speckled Sussex and Araucana in the run for scale, they are not included in the sale. I have washed and sanitised the ark so it is ready for use. My hens have never had any parasites or diseases, they have been raised from hatching eggs and have had no contact with other chickens or second hand equipment, you are welcome to have a look at them when collecting the ark. It comfortably housed my 5 large fowl hens who had additional free range access to a large run but I now have too many hens for this ark so they have all been moved into a much larger purpose made enclosure which has made this ark redundant. It has bars each end so that it can be moved to fresh ground as and when needed. This is a substantial chicken ark not a lightweight inferior Chinese import that won't last a winter and will require at least two strong people to lift it (I can not help with this unfortunately due to health problems). That said one person can shuffle it around the garden easily enough one end at a time. You will also need a trailer or large van for transport if you want to move it as it is, there is no way that it will fit in a car boot or on a roof rack. I'm not sure if it will dismantle because it came fully made. The ark is put together with screws not nails so it is possible to unscrew it into pieces, however I'm not sure if it will unscrew into separate panels so it's probably better to transport it whole. Good Sturdy Wheel Barrow Style Chicken House/Coop/Run Approx 2 years old, designed with ease of moving to a fresh patch of ground in mind. One end is lifted up and then it can be moved around on the wheels, the end panel lifts out to make it lighter and also to gain access to the feeder. The run is made of good quality 1/2 x 1" weld mesh. For 4/5 Chickens or 6-8 bantams depending on size. It comes complete with feeder and drinker. The feeder hangs under the sheltered end of the run out of the weather. The house Section has a nest box and perches which lift out and and a slatted floor which lifts out for ease of cleaning. The slatted floor lets the droppings through making it very low maintenance. The roof of the house allows for good ventilation, essential for chickens and lifts up for access. There is also an access hatch on the top of run to enable access to the house door. The end of the run lifts away to access the sheltered/covered food area at the other end of the run. I have creasoted it with original creosote yearly and have just given it a fresh coat inside and out, this also kills and keeps away the red mite. Although I have used it for a couple of years it is in good sturdy condition and will go on for many years yet. Could also be adapted for most other small animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs. Made with good quality tantalised wood, screwed and bolted together. the wheels have bearings so very free wheeling. So much better built than the cheap imported ones you can buy which don't last long at all (trust me I know!) Collection only, you'll need a fairly large vehicle/Trailer to transport this.
