Animal, the Californian Camper, was imported into the UK by VWDU back in . We knew as soon as we viewed him under the Californian sun that we had to have this bus – original-paint buses looking this cool don't come up for sale very often – so he was packed up and shipped over. Once back in Old Blighty, he was given a complete Vanwurksninterior overhaul and had his white upper bodywork repainted. The interior spec, which includes everything you'll need to go camping, is as follows: cooker, sink, compressor fridge (being fitted), table, rock and roll bed, restored pop-top roof with new canvas (the roof includes a bed so it sleeps 2 adults and 2 children). It has new flooring and upholstery, a 2KW petrol heater, swivel seat, rear child seat belts, new front seat belts, restored seat frames, colour-coded dash, stereo, 240-volt hook-up and bonus charger. It also comes with new white wall tyres, painted wheels, new hubcaps, a recon cc engine with twin carbs and a stainless steel exhaust system. She lived there until when she was imported to the UK by us, the main reason we choose to buy her was because she was very solid and original and low mileage and buses like this don't come up for sale very often and they make great resto projects. As soon as she arrived we set about restoring her back to her former glory, along with a few modern updates, because lets face it its great driving a classic VW camper but if it can have some modern features like power steering and servo assisted brakes why wouldn't you have it. She has a full camping interior, 2 ring gas burner, fridge, sink, rock and roll bed and can sleep 4 adults. She has rear 3 point seat belts, a original captains' seat that swivels around which really opens up the interior to make it feel bigger, new upholstery high density foam, the best quality roof canvas, inner roof lining, Ipod stereo and speakers, new door cards and a 2kw Webasto petrol heater for those cold winter (or British summer!) nights, every thing on the interior was either restored to a very high standard or replaced with a new upgrade.
