Vintage Alfred Meakin 23 Piece "Floral Garland" Tea Service

Vintage Alfred Meakin 23 Piece "Floral Garland" Tea Service Note: The first photograph does not show the 2 serving plates. These were located after the photograph was taken, and are shown in the second photograph. Bottoms of 4 side plates, 4 saucers, 2 serving plates, sugar bowl and teapot are stamped with: Alfred Meakin England Bottoms of 2 plates and 2 saucers are stamped with: ALFRED MEAKIN Crown Mark ENGLAND Bottoms of cups and milk jug have an "ENGLAND" imprint The cups have two slightly different shapes, (particularly the base of the cups), with three cups of each type. The pieces on offer are: 6 cups 6 saucers 6 side plates 2 serving plates 1 tea pot 1 milk jug 1 sugar bowl I am unsure as to the age of the tea service. I remember it on display in my grandmother's china cabinet for many years in the s / s, but suspect that it is probably quite a bit older. I believe that the design is called "Floral Garland". Since there are two styles of base stamp, it seems likely that not all items were purchased at the same time. This would also account for the two styles of cup, where possibly one of the original cups was broken and replaced by one of the newer style. The teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl appear to have a slightly heavier composition than the cups, saucers and plates. The items are all in very good condition, with no chips or cracks, except for one very small chip to the base of one cup. The glaze has not succumbed to crazing, although some fine scratches are visible when held to the light. There is a little wear to the gilt and pattern in a few places. Overall, the tea service appears to have had very little use. Please use the attached photographs as a more detailed guide to condition.
