restored and reloved bureau! hand painted and distressed in a shabby chic style, using a blue/turquoise chalk paint and waxed for protection, this piece was restored sympathetically, however the original organiser inside was unsalvageable so was replaced with a new organiser, new drawer bottoms were installed also. a gorgeous vintage piece! It should be noted that at the back of one of the front feet a small part is missing, however this is not at all noticeable until you look round the back (as you can see in the photos) and restoration of this would have compromised the rest of the foot. Beautiful Vintage Writing Bureau The inspiration behind this restoration was simply a sheet of wrapping paper, with beautiful birds in vivid, eye catching colours. I used Annie Sloan chalk paint in Old White and Paris Grey colours and waxed it to protect it. The drop leaf panel and little shelves inside the bureau were inlaid with maroon faux leather to add colour. The drawer fronts were inlaid with the bird paper and protected with clear adhesive. “Shabby Chic” is a form of interior design where furniture and furnishings are either chosen for their appearance of age and signs of wear and tear or where new items are distressed to achieve the appearance of an antique. Refurbished Shabby Chic Vintage Writing Bureau Desk Drawers

This is a newly refurbished vintage writing bureau with storage space. This bureau has been painted in the specialist furniture Annie Sloan chalk paint in a beautiful shade of grey. The inside of the bureau and inside the drawers I have painted in a lovely contrasting shade of lilac.I have then sympathetically slightly distressed in keeping with the style of shabby chic and then sealed to protect. The unit has three large drawers so plenty of storage space and all drawers have there original handles. The writing desk has two small drawers and shelving. This unit will also plug in to give the writing desk light and it also locks. The unit is made of solid rosewood by John Coyle so it really is a quality piece and is also extremely heavy so you will need two strong people to collect and also a van.
