Vintage 's PASADENA Silk Dress, 38" Bust, Pristine Condi

Glorious turquoise slub silk outer and lined with contrasting lighter turquoise. Pasadena were an Australian company, and the label says "Raja fabric Made In India", "100% hand loom pure silk" and "Sydney Australia" (see photo) I would describe this as slub silk but without any of the big lumpy bits that are typical of slub silk. You can see a "grain" or weave in the fabric, but no bumpy bits (I used to sell high end wedding dresses, and ALL the slub silks had clumpy lumpy bits in them, which is a feature of the fabric, and this looks far more refined than that). Labelled a size 38" bust. Shown here on a UK size 8 dummy. Rear zip, self-fabric matching rolled belt, wonderful decorative small buttons to the front. Beautiful one-off wedding dress made in the s. This is an original antique silk piece with a high neck, short sleeves and grey/silver and pearl embroidery on the shoulders and across the waist panel. It also has a tie at the back. It's ankle length and has a lovely shimmer and swingy movement. I've never seen another one like it and felt very proud to be wearing a piece of history on my wedding day.
