Vintage Rare James Heddon Violin Bow Steel/Aluminum Metal Old This is a nice rare bow made here in the USA several decades back by James Heddon. James was a famous fishing pole and lure maker. There is even a musuem after him. These metal bows where contracted out by Gibson for their line of violins as a complete kit. The bow stamp must be worn away, but a very easily identifiable piece. Needs to be rehaired. The Pat. for the metal bows was in   These bows are potentially tubular steel with aluminum heads I read. Seems it is a very collectable piece. This is an old violin made by Murdock Murdock & Co, London E.C. called “The Maidstone” (as labelled). In very good condition for its age, has had a repair to the back seam as shown, and the expected wear and tear for an instrument of this age, but is sound. Set up and ready to play, comes with a brand new case, a brand new bow, a soft shoulder rest, plus rosin, pencil, sharpener, rubber, and duster - everything you could possibly need! Was all bought for a pupil to be set up with, but wasn’t wanted in the end, so a shame to have it sitting around.
