Genuine USA Walk/Don't Walk Pedestrian Crossing Glass Signs - Direct from New York City!

Right, thought I'd see if any of you lot were cool enough to appreciate these...! A genuine set of Walk/Dont Walk glass signs, that came from New York City. I bought them over there on holiday and brought them home in my hand luggage, and they miraculously survived! Most of the ones i saw for sale were cheap looking plastic versions, these are proper heavy glass. 24cm Wide and Tall. Don't Walk is Red, and Walk is Blue - they are designed to be illuminated from behind - you can either fashion a candle holder frame for them, or just put them on a shelf - either way, they look seriously cool. Yeah, they aren't cheap, but these aren't the sort of thing you can buy in any home furnishing shops over here. Only for sale as I'm having a huge clearout as I've just got too much stuff, I'm a bit of a hoarder! There are minor scuffs and scratches on these, to be expected as they've been working for a living! Ultra cool items for home decoration - no one else is going to have these. £45 for the pair. Travelling post offices were not allowed to provides services to the public and so it was not possible to use them to send a registered letter. However, if letters were found in the boxes that were outside of the car or in special boxes in the stations, with postage rate corresponding to a registered letter, these were registered as such, although it was not possible to deliver a receipt to the sender.In addition, the correspondence which they suspected might contain valuables were sent by registered mail, and taxed accordingly.In any case, they are always extremely rare items.The lot offered is a postcard from 16 September sent to Sorrento, coming from "the Buca di Venezia" (handwritten on the side), where it was found with the postage corresponding to registered mail (35 cents) and as such was treated and forwarded to its destination via the Pontebba-Bologna Travelling Post Office.To the best of my knowledge, to date, this is one of only two registered notes of this kind originating from an Italian Travelling Post Office in the 19th century.
