Two Vintage Old Men Hand Crafted Folk Art Paper Mache Figures! Made in Mexico. I bought them from an antiques emporium in Leek back in , they sat on my bookcase for a few years, and for the last 13 years they have been wrapped in tissue in a box unused. This is a wonderful unique vintage gift or collector piece. The unique sculptures are made from paper by Mexican handymen in special equipment of a papier-mache. It looks fragile but quite strong. Beautiful Early Victorian Paper Mâché Chair

This chair has been in my family since it was bought in the Portobello when she was at last able to buy a house shortly after the war. She adored and so did my mother, so did all of us. We had it restored in the s. Sadly however it broke when we were caring fro my mother. But i have nor been able to let go of it. I have been quoted between 175 for a basic fix to 450 for a full fix with the paint renewed. I would pay this but i do not think I can keep the chair. So I am offering for a £25 donation to Vox Hollway, my local community choir which keeps so many people happy. It will make a great project for someone with a serious interest in bringing beautiful old furniture back to life. Read more

24" tall Unique Unusual Rare Antique Vintage Papier Mache Lion

Do not expect a new item in a pristine condition. The lion has damage on the tail and the feet and the paintwork is rubbed bare in places and littered with little nicks and scrapes. Having got that out of the way, this is a truly amazing piece of art, which I have not come across before. At 24 inches tall, 32 inches in length and 11 inches wide, it is a substantial little piece that will create a focus and discussion point for any room. I suspect that is probably early to mid-century and could possibly be Russian made looking at the writing on the newspapers which created it. Happy to send more photos if required.
