Vintage s 250cmx205cm John Bartholomew Map Of Great
A very old circa (possibly earlier, its very difficult to find another to compare on the internet) Map of Great Britain sized at 250cm Long x 205cm wide. The map has the names John Bartholomew as its type of design. John Bartholomew was credited with having pioneered the use of hypsometric tints or layer colouring on maps in which low ground is shown in shades of green and higher ground in shades of brown, then eventually purple and finally white. The name of the publisher is William Collins & Sons & Company. It is a parchment type material and has only the bottom wooden pole still included although this is no longer attached to the map. Collect from Malton, North Yorkshire.
