Beautiful genuine vintage Hofner violin bass. Excellent condition and in full working order with no electrical issues. Classic Hofner tones! Two small marks at the top of the headstock, otherwise unmarked. Specifications: Flame Maple/Beech/Flame Maple with white binding & black side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. 22 frets are in great shape with minimal wear. Open-back tuners with pearloid buttons in perfect working condition. Violin-shaped hollow body in sunburst finish. Spruce top with flame maple back & sides. Trapeze tailpiece with adjustable fretted ebony bridge & pearloid pickguard. Here we have for sale is a superb Hofner German Violin Bass which as you can see is a lovely example which also comes with a fitted hard case its not the original case but works perfectly fine, the overall condition is very good throughout with only a couple of small age related marks but nothing major. Its all original with no mods or repairs just a great example which plays and sounds fantastic. Fender 'American Special' P-bass () - Candy apple red - Made in USA. - Serial number: US - American alder body - Maple neck with 'C' Shape profile This American made Fender Precision bass was newly purchased in January . Initially it was used for practicing at home until I joined a band. Since then it has been used at 6 live gigs and on the recording of a full length rock album. No structural or electrical/hardware issues whatsoever. Some light play wear only on scratch plate and on the reverse of body. The intonation is spot on and the strings stay in tune from one week to the next... the mark of a quality instrument! The 'C' shape neck profile is just wonderful and so comfortable to play. Sound wise this is just what you would expect from a genuine Fender P-bass. The split coil pickup produces the satisfying Fender bottom end as heard on so many classic recordings. I purchased this P-bass for £825 in January and have decided to list it at the same price of a new Mexican made Standard Fender bass (although I welcome sensible offers).
