Vintage French Louis Bed (Large UK Double)

This vintage French bed was bought as an up-cycling project but due to time restrictions I haven't been able to complete it. It was bought from a family in Warwickshire who import French beds. It is a French King Size but is realistically a large UK double. The previous owner said that it would fit a UK King size mattress. It would need a bit of paint and to be recovered but the upholstering is not bad. Made up of 4 pieces: headboard, foot board and 2 side panels. Vintage French inspired painted shabby chic double bed - newly upholstered base

Vintage French inspired painted shabby chic double bed - newly upholstered base This bed has been hand painted with a white base coat and then hand painted with Autentico Vintage chalk paint in Soft Grey before being lightly distressed. I have hand finished the wardrobe with a white chalk wax to add durability which has a lovely matt finish. This effect gives an authentic rustic french shabby chic look. This is a super Vintage double bed. The bed is made from mahogany. The bed has a lovely shaped headboard with a central carved detail and shaped mouldings. The bed has iron sides made by Vono, which simply bolt on. The bed has is original base which has been newly upholstered with plain white cover. The double mattress then sits on top of the base. The base is designed to fold in centre, to help navigate the stairs. The foot board have beautiful swan necked ends.
