Vintage wooden Canoe

Beautiful rare old wooden canoe that dates from just post war I guess. You will not see many like this! I bought it from the boatyard in Dedham in & replaced a few ribs, rubbed it down & varnished it. I made the bottom boards & folding seats. The canoe comes with two old original paddles & two newer replacements. The side planks are hardwood & clenched to the ribs with copper nails in the traditional way & the floor is flat plywood, so the canoe floats in very shallow water. There is a very small area of rot on the rear deck shown in the photo & the canoe could do with a quick sand & re-varnish to tidy it. Our children loved the canoe as its a bit "Swallows & Amazons", but sadly it has not been used for about 30 years now. I can send more photos to your email if you are seriously interested. Three Vintage Wooden Canoe Paddles

Three vintage wooden canoe paddles, one pair and one single; lovely grain and patina on each; elegant blade contours and grips. The single paddle is possibly made of Spruce and is a rich reddish colour with tight grain patterns; the pair are made from an unknown hardwood, these are heavy and slightly more patinated. Each has a wax and polished finish. Beautiful as decorative items, or could be used for purpose! Lengths: 153cm (single) and 158 cm (pair). Would split at £50 for the pair and £30 for the single.
