Eko `Rio Grande 12` -Vintage Acoustic 12 String Guitar

A good example of a rare, mid 's Eko 12 string guitar. Great sounding, all original with an adjustable bridge, open style tuners and a low action for a 12 string. I believe it has a spruce top and mahogany sides and back. Made in Italy, this is a weighty, full size dreadnought size guitar with a big voice to match! New strings just fitted. There are several dings here and there, mainly to the dark resin binding around the body edge. Also at the top, rear corner of the headstock. None of these are that obvious and do not affect the sound or playability. Otherwise it's in great condition for it's age - no cracks to the body wood, the neck is straight, adjustable and frets are like new. Nut width is 46mm. I rarely play it anymore and it should get some use! It's never been gigged and comes from a pet and smoke free home. Hofner 12 String Acoustic Vintage

Selling my Vintage 12 String Hofner. I’ve owned this guitar for 25 years and it’s had very little if any use if I’m honest over those years. I have had the guitar looked over previously by my local luthier who said what a fantastic piece of work the Guitar was. I’d took it as the scratch plate has become “bobbly” over the years. He said, “does it bother you?”. I stopped and thought about it and I figured I didn’t care. I wanted it to be original - warts and all. Changing it is a coupla quid should it be something that puts you off her though. I’d think long and hard first as it is pretty amazing this instrument is as it is. How many modern 12 Strings will be going this many years into the future? It’s very difficult to put a specific date upon manufacture but I have been told it’s most likely to date back to some time around the 50’s. So to the stuff I was told for sure! The Guitar is a 12 strong dreadnought, made by Hofner in West Germany. It is post apparently due to the truss rod. And now to the stuff I can tell you as her owner! This guitar is fantastic quality. The neck has stayed beautifully straight - it appears to have had some kind of repair at some point in its life but has had no issues during the 25 years it has lived with me! It has a few nicks and dings here and there (as shown) but surprisingly good condition for its age. It plays very nicely and has a lovely rich, aged sound to it. If you are looking for an affordable 12 string with an aged sound and “different” to anything else you’ll ever see anywhere else, this is your guitar. Comes with a good quality padded bag. Read more

's EKO Modello 12 string, plays and sounds excellent, however, priced low as: At one time it has had a neck semi break, and has been well repaired but you can see where. Does not effect playability. as with most of these guitars there is a slight bellying of the front near the bridge. Action is very good right up the neck there are cracks in the front veneer of the guitar, does not seem to effect the sound at all but clearly visible. it's a nice vintage guitar with a nice rich sound and good action right up the neck. Price reflects condition
