Circa Very nice Mahogany single fusee movement drop-dial Wall Clock in good working order but has a couple of minor issues The clock was made by G.V. Ganney of Tonbridge Wells. Has a twelve inch glass door with catch at the back, brass Bezel (hinge needs a little attention) has an enemal dial with Roman painted numerals, The movement is chain driven and there is an scroll decoration either side of the box with brass cast moulding infront of the Box viewing panel The Face is set in a mahogany circular frame and is in still good reliable working order and has the key! This a victorian wall clock.It has fusee movement and a twelve inch diameter face.it is still working and keeps excellent time.it will keep working 5 or 6 days with one wind.I purchased this clock while i was working in St Lukes Hospital which was a "Victorian Asylum".The initials M C B A i believe is for Middlesborough County or Cleveland Borough Asylum although some one might know better.The age according to the clock is .It has a opening door at the bottom with a lock and key a hatch at the side and has wooden pins to secure the back to the front. it is in good condition for its age although could possibly do with a clean and service.Please feel free to contact me re a viewing Read more

Rare automaton Vienna wall clock- working

Rare Automaton Vienna wall clock with Father Time striking the time on a bell. This is a working clock and is sold as a project for someone because previously the case has been stipple painted in light oak colour. It works fine and would be ok as a farmhouse kitchen clock but it might benefit from the case being stripped back and re-stained to original mahogany colour? The clock In good working order and comes with key and pendulum. Special feature of this Vienna is at the top there is a figure of Father Time holding a bell Hammer which he then uses to strike the bell, once at each half hour and at each hour it strikes the time. A very unusual mechanism I would think as I’ve not come across one if these before? Dimensions - 33” tall x 16” wide x 7” deep. (84cm x 41cm x 17cm) case including top pediment and base crown. Father Time is cm) tall and the bell is approx 3.5” tall x cm tall x 8cm) wide at the base. This clock also benefits from having replacement top finials ready to stain or paint. Original Base crown and finial all in place. The clock has German striking movement and is working as it should. There are half turned side pillars to each side of the opening front glazed door. There is brass banjo style sundial pendulum and a beat plaque at bottom of backboard. There are glass panels to each side of the case where the movement can be seen working. I would Prefer personal collection from our home, due to the glass content or you may arrange your own courier to collect for you at your own risk. The crossed arrow engraved " Hac" American movement is pendulum driven, chiming the half hour & hour on a melodious sounding gong.
