Cast Flat Iron - Victorian - Lift Gate + slug iron at rear
This Cast Iron Flat Iron from the Victorian era, with a wedge shaped slug iron has been donated to our charity. I have deliberately not sanded the rust from it in case a collector wished to keep it in it's present aged condition, but it would clean up a lot with some TLC. The wooden handle has a piece missing at each end and revolves on the metal axle it is on, but is otherwise complete. It measures 7 inches (18cm) in length, 6.75 inches (17 cm) in height, and is 4.35 inches (11 cm) wide at the back which has a lift gate for the slug iron to go into. The slug iron has a hole in the centre, and measures 4.75 inches (12 cm) in length and is 2.75 inches (7 cm) wide and 1.5 inches (4 cm) deep. It weighs approx 3 Kg.
