This is a chance to own a "One off" uniquely designed piece of furniture. The rocking chair has been sanded back to its natural wood and finished with a natural finishing wax so as not to detract from its beauty. This is a solid wood framed piece which we believe is possibly beech wood. The patchwork design has been hand sewn and fitted by myself along with new webbing supports for longevity. There is a small amount of finishing details to be done around the arms and the back, but this chair should be ready for collection from Wednesday onwards. A unique, revolving/tilting Captain's chair, completely restored with leather seat cover brass studs, new padding and webbing. Cast iron mechanism totally original. Made in Cardiff (date unknown) the maker's in situ brass plate states 'Morgan & Co.,The Hayes, Cardiff'. I no longer have room for this lovely piece of Welsh history. I think it is probably a man's chair for its overall style and wide, deep seat. The chair also has a link to the Port of Felixstowe which is where I found it, rescued it and had it restored about 30 years ago. Please note - not on castors.
