TWO sets of rare Antique Scales in Brass Victorian

Selling TWO sets of antique scales here. The first is a beautiful set of brass scales in a wooden and glass case complete with a set of brass weights. This is a very unusual yet very precise weighing instrument. These are known as apothecary scales, more commonly used by chemists from the turn of the 20th Century. The scales are in magnificent condition, as is the oak case that features a lift up front panel to give access to the scales. These would make a super display in a kitchen, bathroom or office environment. Also included is a second set of antique scales. These are a really lovely set of Victorian postal scales with brass weights. It has a card under its wooden base with postal rates for written by hand. This is a genuine unmolested item that would make a lovely display feature in a house. It comes with a period cardboard box for keeping them safe when not on display. Selling BOTH sets of scales for first £100 or very near offer. Collect from Sunderland only. Unable to post due to risk of being damaged in transit. Please see my other Antique listings. AVERY Weighing Scales - Shop Scales Vintage 's (Non Working - See Description)

Avery Shop Weighing Scales - 's/'s Collectable and a visual ornament for any kitchen. These scales were fully working and in use when I purchased them 10+years ago and were in full use in our kitchen up until last year. Unfortunately during a house move they were placed on their side and the oil which counterbalances the weighing dial came out and although I have been advised that it is a task of simply filling the chamber - this has not been done and due to this I am selling the scales as needing this repair. The visual appearance is as used - there is some enamel which has been worn which I think adds to the old, vintage look and patina finish (please see photos for condition and visual look).
