World War 1 Trench Art - pair of brass vases -

World War 1 Trench Art - pair of vases made out of brass artillery shell cases which are both dated on the base. Dimensions are approx 22cms (8.5") high and diameter of 8 cms (3"). They have a crimped lower half and an attractive leaf pattern on the top half of the shells. These vases are 100 years old this year, and it's rare to find a matching pair in such an excellent condition. There are no splits and just one pin hole in one of the vases 3" from the top, so you are still able to put water in them for cut flowers. I am happy to post so please contact me for the cost of postage and package. Two German WW1 shells both dated June and both from the Haniel Luege, Dusseldorf munitions factory. The first shell is engraved "Souvenir of the Great War " on one side and then has a rose bush with several flowers on it on the reverse and a leaf pattern going all around the bottom. The second shell is engraved "Souvenir of the Great War " on one side and then has two roses on the reverse and a leaf and grape pattern around the bottom.
