These boxes have remnants of gilding and on top brass bands. A square tea box, likewise of good quality. Here the lock plate and the lock are missing. Furthermore the boxes have small aging tracks and cracks. Height: 10.6 centimetres, 11.6 centimetres and 12.6 centimetres. Diameter: 15.5 centimetres, 16 centimetres and 16.5 centimetres. This is a late 19th century solid mahogany folding side table / tea table. It is on its original castors. This versatile piece of furniture can be used closed as a desk or side table. Or it can be opened out to serve as a tea table or small dining table. It measures 74cm high by 91cm wide by 45cm deep (90cm deep when extended). This tapered tea box with convex lid is made from pinewood and lined with walnut veneer. As accents blackened quarter round edges and the lid and key entrance inlaid with a diamond shape of bone. The inside has a single lid with turned knob of bone and a large part of the original lead-/tin foil is still present. The spoon box still has its original brass hinges and a lock with working key. The bottom of the tea box has shrunk, creating an old shrink seam around in the veneer. The tea caddy has a nice warm orange-brown colour and fancy gloss from the authentic polished finish.Dimensions; height: 11 cm, width: 14 cm, depth: 10 cm. Read more
