This Bible is very old, how old I'm not sure but it was left to me by my Auntie Dot when I was very Young and I believe it was left to my Auntie by her parents when she was young but I don't know any further back than that. Antique 19th Century Family Holy Bible

Title: The Holy Bible Publisher: Cassell, Petter and Galpin Date printed: The Publishers were in partnership and active between Edition: Date not printed. The Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testaments with Explanatory Notes, References and a Condensed Concordance. Illustrated with more than nine hundred highly furnished engravings. Usually given as a wedding present, this 19th Century Family Holy Bible has come down through the generations and originally belonged to my Great Grandparents who were married in . The Holy Bible contains the Old Testament and the New King James Bible. It is a hard back piece with possibly its original storage cardboard box. Although the hard covers and storage slip case have been taped up by previous generations, it is all there. Please note that the Register pages for Birth, Marriage and Death have been carefully removed, but the new owner could insert their own during possible restoration. The stitching is still nice and tight and has original ribbon page marker. The Holy Bible does have age related spots. I have had this family piece for a number of years, but I am now offering it for sale as the next generation has no interest in it. This is a lovely family Bible (circa mid 's I believe) - Cassell, Petter & Gilpin (London, Paris & New York) with 13 Gold tone spaces for family members names, when they were born, married and died also spaces for family portraits. Though none of these have been written in. The Bible contains; The Old and New Testaments, Explanatory Notes, References, Condensed Concordance. Illustrated with more than nine hundred highly finished engravings. Unfortunately only very recently the front cover seperated from the main body of the book so it will need a book binding job to put that right.
