I've had this tent for years but it's still excellent condition, no rips, tears or any other damage and the seams seals are all still in place. What it does have are a few small (around 3mm across) black stains on the inner sheet, I tried cleaning these with neat tech wash but the stains seem permanent. Excellent 4 season, free standing tent (just perfect as a 1 man tent) that pitches in 5 minutes. Full details from the terra nova website, search on Southern Cross 2. Having decided to return to camping after quite some years away from the activity, I purchased this tent for its relatively compact size and weight (under 3kg), ease of pitch, storage space (has two vestibules) and weather resistance. As I’ve only used the tent once I can’t testify whether it lives up to its reputed capabilities, but I can confirm that I woke with the tent intact and around me in some 40 mph plus winds on a Cornish hillside!  Genuinely pleased with my selection of tent but, having used the tent once over a period of 5 days, I realise that I’m just too old for camping now, and miss my creature comforts! I’ve pitched the price (pun intentional) at a level that I’d feel comfortable to part with it (or otherwise keep): the ‘real-world price for the tent with footprint is £ (combined list price of £593).
