The gentle and beautiful Wensleydale sheep produces a fleece with a very long staple, and is famous for the softness and the wonderful glossy lustre of its fleece. The photo shows 100g (about 4 oz) of sliver, which, as you can see, fills a large baking bowl. The price is for 100g. You can buy larger amounts if you wish, or just 50g if you don't need so much. Ashford Spinning Wheel I got this spinning wheel from New Zealand 7 years ago. It is in good working order but recently I don’t have the time to use it or the space to keep it. It has provided me with hours of relaxation and fun and I hope it will do the same for you. It is a wonderful tool and it gives you such a sense of achievement to spin your own wool, it needs to be with someone who has the time to enjoy it. I have used it to spin from natural fleece and also from topps (I find topps are much easier to spin with, no need for carding) It is in good working order but has not been used for a few months now. Along with the spinning wheel you will receive • Ashford Lazy Kate. (spool rack) This beautifully made vertical Ashford Lazy Kate holds 3 bobbins, which are also included. This is used to ply your wool once spun. All three bobbins are also included. • Niddy Noddy. This is used to make skeins from yarn. It consists of a central bar with crossbars at each end offset from each other by 90°. The specially shaped crossbars allow the skein (hank) of yarn to slide off easily when made. It is easy to dismantle for storage or transportation. • Orifice Hook. Wool fleece, beautiful pure new from pet ryeland sheep - felting / spinning

I have 9 pure new wool fleeces from our coloured rye land sheep. The fleece range in colour from blonde to honey to ginger to chestnut. I have used the fleece for felting very successfully but have lots more than I need. I have removed any grubby bits but you will need to wash with fairy before use. This can be done in a sink/bucket or washing machine (wool cycle!). The fleece is very soft and has long fibres which make it great for spinning. There is a lot of wool in each fleece (see photos) Happy to post for cost, please feel free to choose which fleece you want. Or local pick up.
