HERE I HAVE FOR SALE A VICTORIAN ADAMANTINE STRIKING MANTLE CLOCK. I HAVE A REPORT AND RECEIPT FOR THE WORK DONE ON THE RESTORATION, THE REPORT ON THE CLOCK CALLS IT A BLACK BELGIAN MARBLE CASED FRENCH STRIKING CLOCK CIRCA ..UNDERGONE SA COMPLETE RESTORATION IT IS IN FULL WORKING ORDER AND IN VERY VERY GOOD ORDER.. THERE ARE PHOTO'S WITH THE CLOCK SHOWING IT HAD A COMPLETE STRIP DOWN AT THIS TIME. IT HAS TAKEN A LITTLE PATIENCE BUT I HAVE SET THE CLOCK UP AND CAN REPORT THE CHIME ETC WORKS AS IT SHOULD STRIKES ON THE HOUR THE HOUR SO 3 STRIKES IF IT,S 3 O CLOCK AND SO ON AND ONCE EVERY HALF HOUR, ALSO IT KEEPS VERY GOOD TIME, THIS WAS NOT THE CASE WHEN FIRST SET IT UP BUT WITH PATIENCE IT KEEPS GOOD TIME THE CLOCK IS VERY HEAVY, SO I'M SWAPPING OR SELLING ON A MEET ONLY BASIS FROM MINE TO WHERE EVER WE MEET HALF WAY. Victorian slate/marble French mantle clock with bell chimes

I have for sale an elegant Victorian black slate and red mottled marble mantle clock, having bell chime movement. The Clock strikes on a little bell once on each half hour and on the hour it chimes according to the time. On the French movement are markings GR inside an oval shape and impressed stamp marked with AD Mougin And five-pointed star. I have added pictures of the movement with and without the steel bell attached. Clock has been recently serviced and is keeping good time. The dial is clear and has decorative hands. There is opening front glazed bezel allowing access to winding holes. At the back there is also an opening door to gain access to pendulum and bell chime movement. Clock will be supplied with a winding key and will run for more than a week on a full wind. Approximate Dimensions - 29cms tall x 24 cms wide x 14 cms depth. Clock French Style Lyre clock. in Northampton

Most attractive fairly modern version about 15yrs old of a porcelain lyre clock. The clock is a reproduction of the clock that is said to have belonged to Queen Marie Antoinette the original clock being made in Severes porcelain during the late 18th century. The clock is 16inches in overall height and the oval base measures 4 inches at its widest point. The clock case is decorated in a rich deep blue colour with lovely areas of gilding all over the porcelain case which stands on 3 round and decorated gilded feet the case top is surmounted by a sunburst ornament which encompasses a ladies face' plus a large swag underneath the ornament The movement is mechanical (key supplied) and rings the time on 2 bells on the half hour and the hour as some of the older French clocks do. Would suit any home, antique of the future needs to be seen to be appreciated. I have picture of the original clock for comparison.
