Vintage oak Bureau / writing desk with drop down leaf, This lovely elegant design desk is in very good condition.I have no idea of the age of this but assume it dates from at least the s / s as it has been in the family for as long as I can remember. But please make up your own mind about the age based on the photos and more experience than I have! We are selling this only as part of necessary down-sizing.It has been a treasured piece of family furniture and has been well looked after and regularly cleaned with furniture polish. As far as I can tell the wood is oak / oak veneer, but the back panel is just regular stained plywood.The exterior is largely unmarked - see photos. The lid is very slightly warped in that the top left corner doesn't sit as tight against the frame as the rest - see photo 3. The interior of the desk top has signs of use as would be expected (see photos), but the exterior is in very good clean, undamaged condition. The hinges and stays are in good working order. There are two original keys for the brass lock in the lid which also works perfectly.The drawers pull in and out smoothly. The handles show some signs of wear to the "brass" finish.The desk stands 95cm high x 42cm deep x 59cm wide. The writing flap measures 55cm wide x 28cm deep and is 69cm off the floor. £, Bristol,.

We're now selling our rare Treviso desk by Ercol which was designed by Matthew Hilton. It's finished in a light oak colour and is a stunning piece. It's had light occasional use and is in excellent unmarked condition with no fading or water marks. There are no visible imperfections and this is a truly great example of this very sought after desk. The Ercol label is also still present. Vintage Mid Century Light Oak Desk/Writing table

Vintage Mid Century Light Oak Desk/Writing Desk Beautifully made piece of old furniture. This is a very large desk, it measures: 137cm wide 76cm deep 75 cm tall The top does come off to assist moving it, with metal fittings under the top that can be undone to take the top off (although i have not tried this as we moved it into my home as whole) One very wide shallow draw across the middle with 2 deeper drawers on the right hand side and a handy writing/paper ledge that pulls out at the top. There are a quite a few ring marks on the top and some other marking on the top from years of use, and some surface damage to the left hand drawer handle, which could be sanded down. It is still a beautiful solid piece of vintage furniture despite the signs of wear, but selling at a lower price because of this. Only selling due to lack of space.
