SML gold medal mark 2
I have various SML saxophones for sale, mostly alto, but also soprano and tenor. Please get in touch if you wish to discuss SML or Pierret saxophones. The SML 'gold medal' 2 is the final flourish of Parisian makers Strasser Marigaux LeMaire. It is identical to the famous 'King Marigaux' sold in America by the H.N.White company. It has many useful and often unique features, including a moveable 4-point neck tension ring, a switchable g# linkage mechanism on the little finger table and a wealth of adjustment screws both down on the stacks and on the keys. They're beautifully designed handbuilt saxes and they sound glorious - unmistakably french, but less spread and breathy than the selmer mk VI with a unique sweet, dark tone. You can look them up on the net, Matt Stohrer has a youtube video about an SML for example, and saxpics have reasonably accurate information from an american perspective. This is an excellent sax with a really beautiful tone which bears favourable comparison with any of the great saxes of the past. Read More
