LARGE VICTORIAN 7 PIECE SILVER MOUNTED CRUET / CONDIMENT SET
This is a superb large sized Victorian Silver Mounted Cruet / Condiment set with a gorgeous and beautifully designed silver plated holder with the Sheffiled assay office hallmarks and the date letter of to the tops of the salt, pepper and mustard condiment bottles. There’s also a duty mark as expected for that year but the makers mark has worn too much to decipher. The spoon to the mustard pot is silver plate. The set comprises of 7 condiment items in all, which includes the original glass bottles and stoppers. The stand is a width of approximately 20cm, depth of 14cm and overall height to the top of the centre piece handle of approximately 26cm. There’s a letter D inscribed to the front and is a really elegant piece. There’s some wear to the centre piece on the plate at the bottom and a couple of bottle stoppers are slightly chipped, one is to the bottom so not seen when in a bottle. There’s some tarnishing to the silver plate and silver in places but overall a good quality set. The condition is as you would expect for an item over 160 years old. Read More
