Shabby Chic Bureau Bookcase/Secretariat with leaded stain glass windows

This charming rustic light blue bookcase with pretty stained glass windows has been painted with Annie Sloan’s ‘Louis blue’ chalk paint and finished with a clear wax. It could add cottagey charm and character to either a dinning room or lounge and be used to display dishes or books. The desk is good for storing lots of small things and could be used as an occasional desk. I used it mainly as a bookcase with extra storage. Dimensions: H (189 cm), D (38 cm), W (72.5 cm) The two bottom drawers are a bit stiff and sticky but this could probably be fixed with a bit of sanding or soap. At some point the hinges may need replacing though they are working now. It can be detached into two pieces, although because I have never detached it, the top part of the desk that the bookcase sits on hasn’t been painted. I’m not sure what decade this is from. Old writing bureau with drawers and leaded glass display cabinet for sale. This belonged to a family member and is at least 40 years old. I don’t know what the wood is. Main part with drawers measures 39” high, 24” across and 16” deep. The top section with leaded glass front and locks with key, measures 32” high, 24” across and is 8” deep. Restoration project. Shabby Chic Vintage BUREAU Desk / DRESSING TABLE with Key

This is a beautiful vintage bureau. A quality piece of furniture. Ideal as a work station or a lady's dressing table. This bureau has been lovingly, personally up-cycled: Chalk painted in Annie Sloan 'Paris Grey', subtly distressed, then finished with satin varnish. 'Work areas' (top and inside bureau) have had 2 coats for extra protection and durability. The back of the bureau has been fully painted and varnished. The chest section has: One smaller drawer at top (lockable) Two slightly larger drawers below (bottom drawer is lockable) Original, unusual, drop handles with back plates Keyhole on each drawer (1 is false and 2 are at a rather jaunty angle!)
