SET OF 4 ANTIQUE PAINTED MAHOGANY BALLOON-BACK DINING CHAIRS WITH ORIGINAL NEEDLEWORK/TAPESTRY SEATS Antique set of 4 Victorian mahogany balloon-back dining chairs with original overstuffed tapestry/needlework seats in remarkably good condition for age, each depicting a different floral design in an oval, set in a common striped background in 3 shades of blue (see photos). Carved legs and carved horizontal back splat. Dimensions Seat at widest: 465mm (approx 18") Seat front to back: 430mm (approx 17") Height of chair back at highest: 825mm (approx 32.5") Height from floor to seat top: 465mm (approx 18") 2 years ago, the woodwork was professionally painted in Annie Sloan Old Ochre paint and tastefully distressed in the shabby chic style. The chairs are sound and ready to use. They are more than 100 years old so inevitably have appropriate signs of age-related wear. Victorian dining chairs. Late 's. Set of four.

Here I have four antique Victorian, original chairs. They have been used in our farmhouse. One chair has been broken at some point in its life, has a glued leg and two angle brackets under the seat, see (photo). This chair is rickety and if not being used for show will need some attention. The other three are solid. These are used chairs and the seats on two are starting to fray (see photo). Otherwise, considering their age they are in pretty good condition. Odd marks, but no deep scratches or dents. These are as seen in the photo's I have not polished them up for sale or anything. They are what they are, many thanks for looking.
