SET OF 4 ANTIQUE PAINTED MAHOGANY BALLOON-BACK DINING CHAIRS WITH ORIGINAL NEEDLEWORK/TAPESTRY SEATS Antique set of 4 Victorian mahogany balloon-back dining chairs with original overstuffed tapestry/needlework seats in remarkably good condition for age, each depicting a different floral design in an oval, set in a common striped background in 3 shades of blue (see photos). Carved legs and carved horizontal back splat. Dimensions Seat at widest: 465mm (approx 18") Seat front to back: 430mm (approx 17") Height of chair back at highest: 825mm (approx 32.5") Height from floor to seat top: 465mm (approx 18") 2 years ago, the woodwork was professionally painted in Annie Sloan Old Ochre paint and tastefully distressed in the shabby chic style. The chairs are sound and ready to use. They are more than 100 years old so inevitably have appropriate signs of age-related wear. Please look at all the photos, as they do form part of the description and give you a good idea of colour and condition.
