A Selway Fisher design outboard motor canoe built in , constructed using the stitch and tape method. Coated inside and out with epoxy resin and the exterior overpainted with exterior paint. It will carry up to 3 adults and has been car roof topped and sailed on the Kennet and Avon canal. It can be fitted with detachable wheels so that a single person can wheelbarrow it using the paddle handles to the launch site. Two wooden paddles are included. This is an old Seagull engine circa The engine number is SP.J8 which indicates that it is a Silver Century 4.5 HP standard shaft engine. There is a lot of information on various web sites (see Saving-old-seagulls) and apparently there are anomalies in the engine numbering so you buy it as seen. I took it in exchange for a debt 20 years ago and know nothing about it. I have now decided to clear out my garage and have no time to recommission it, so it is for sale as spares or repair. It turns over and seems generally OK. I believe it was a runner when I got it. These small engines were used to drive fairly large boats at relatively low speeds and are ideal for canals and tenders etc. Cash on collection please. I may be able to deliver. Read More
