Beautiful 11hh Reg Sec A Mare

11hh Reg Sec A grey mare, 8 yrs old. Broken late as a 7 yr old by a showing producer and was shown as a leading rein pony at the beginning of the season. Unfortunately she was too green for little tots to ride in the ring at the bigger shows. Although she apparently was excellent at home with a older more experienced jockey. I took her on as a companion pony after a bad experience at a show. Nothing nasty, just increasing became sharp which unbalanced the little rider. Since then she has been used as a companion pony to a couple of horses. I have continued her education in-hand over the summer months. She has been lunged on the flat and jumped over coloured fences up to 2.6ft but has scope to jump far bigger. This mare loves jumping but would need more schooling by a experience jockey. She is going to be too sharp and green for a novice, first time owners or nervous young rider to handle as she needs reassurance from her rider/handler and a one to one relationship. She has not been ridden or walked in-hand on the road at all so this will need work too as she is nervous with passing traffic. She is good to bath, groom, in stable, tack up, with farrier, dentist and to clip. Easy to load with a bucket, can be inconsistent to catch but will again come to you straight away with a bucket. She has been fully vaccinated for tetanus, regularly trimmed (never shod), wormed and had teeth rasped at the end of August. I had intentions of keeping this little mare as a companion and breaking her to harness in time as she has movement to die for. Unfortunately I no longer need a companion pony due to buying back a home bred filly and as space is at a premium over the winter she now needs to find a suitable new home. This pony would make a lovely addition to a experienced equine family with a few good little jockeys to ride her on. Being advertised realistically as a project for an experienced, loving home only as she is a sweet little mare which just needs a good rider not a hard time. She has been clipped with a bib clip and will be ready to be re-schooled over the winter. Currently turned out 24/7. Will go with her fly rug and brand new shires turn out rug. We've had Roo for 18 months, she is 9 in April. She was successfully shown in hand as a youngster to county level. She was professionally backed and has been to shows with a competent rider. She is responsive under saddle and good to hack out. We've only hacked her out and used her as a companion as she is too sharp for my complete novice daughter. I have taken my young niece out on the lead with her to. She needs a competent experienced handler as she can be 'grumpy' pulling faces, stomping her feet, she will occasionally nip at you. She lives in or out, never been sick or sorry with us. She is good to catch, farrier, load, will hack out alone or in company. She is currently bare foot. This is an honest advert to try and find a good home for Roo. She is priced accordingly, she is not suitable for a novice rider/handler. She is on a green Welsh Pony & Cob society passport.
