2 Male redfoot tortoises for sale. One is approx 7 the other is approx 8 years old. We have owned the youngest male from only a few weeks old and the other when he was about 14 month. We are not experts by any means but have tryed to give them what they need for a healthy life. We have spent s of pounds over the years upgrading their vivs as they have got older. Now they live in a purpose built 8 x 4 foot viv complete with misting system and 250 watt ceramic heat lamp. As you will see the older redfoot as got a bit of shell damage. We are not sure the exact cause but we took advice and treated this. The shell does not appear to be getting worse and it has been like this for several months now. We would only consider selling these to people who have either owned this breed before or know what exactly is required to keep these tortoises. Sadly I am having to sell my very much loved Redfoot (presumed male) Trevor due to my disabilities meaning I can no longer care for my reptiles:'(Trevor has the most amazing personality, he loves people and is used to all other household pets (dogs, cats). His favourite food is kale but he loves a wide range of fruits and veggies. He can come with his 4ft beech effect vivarium (which he only really uses to sleep in- most of the time he's wandering round the house) at no extra cost. Trevor is not a tiny tortoise but he won't become a giant either, he really enjoys a nice warm bath and exploring. Viewings are welcome, delivery may be possible (for petrol cost) if not a million miles away (Trevor lives in Walthamstow). I am very regretfully selling my two tortoises: Speedy (7) and Shelly (5). They are of the eastern hermanns species. These two tortoises mean the world to me and have seriously become part of the family. Both have distinct personalities, making them more than just a couple of tortoises. Speedy and Shelly have lived in an adapted rabbit cage - same as a tortoise table. They are therefore used to the open-top enclosures. Top soil and coconut fibre have been the primary substrates. The enclosure will not be up for sale because it is getting too small for them and they both enjoy the supervised space of a garden in the suitable weather conditions. I will, however, give the heat lamp and UVA controller away. Speedy and Shelly are both female, which obviously explains why they have been kept together for all these years with no problems. Speedy does get a little bit greedy, being larger, and so would need more food and a potential visual block from the other feeding dish. As I am planning on moving away for university, I will not be able to take them with me. I believe it is in their best interest to go with someone that has the same commitment, love and enthusiasm for them as I have. As stressed previously, I will not give up these pair to just anyone. Before giving them up, I must see that they will be suitably housed and I must come to the view that you will be a responsible pet owner. Experience of keeping reptiles is necessary! Read More
