Used in a saddlers for prospective clients to try a saddle for comfort before purchasing. The pine block rocks slightly to imitate the movement of a saddle. 24" tall Unique Unusual Rare Antique Vintage Papier Mache Lion

Do not expect a new item in a pristine condition. The lion has damage on the tail and the feet and the paintwork is rubbed bare in places and littered with little nicks and scrapes. Having got that out of the way, this is a truly amazing piece of art, which I have not come across before. At 24 inches tall, 32 inches in length and 11 inches wide, it is a substantial little piece that will create a focus and discussion point for any room. I suspect that is probably early to mid-century and could possibly be Russian made looking at the writing on the newspapers which created it. Happy to send more photos if required. Triple Chime Oak Case Antique Clock Fully Working rare and unusual

Here is a lovely oak cased Clock from around the s. It has a good movement and plays a triple chime that is selective - Westminster, St Michaels and Wittington chimes. The clock strikes every 15 minutes. The case is in excellent condition for its age - I've just given it a light wax polish. The clock is ticking away nicely. The chimes are amazing. It could possibly benefit from a good clean as it has been standing for over 6 years. It shows how good it is however by starting up straight away. Unfortunately I do not have its original key but a standard brass radiator key will fit its shaft. That said, Clock keys are easily sourced on the internet. The clock has no makers name but it is similar to Smith Enfield designs. It's dimensions are 43cm wide by 24cm high by 18cm deep. It would look superb on a wooden fire surround in a period house. I have had these for many many years and they were bought as rare vintage back then? reluctant sale but clearing some of my Asian/Indian items. Not sure exactly where they originally came from. The heads Feet and arm bits are made of solid hand painted wood, they have not been in the sun so no fading although the chickens feet got damaged and removed at some stage, otherwise in beautiful condition. (still have them feet with broken toes and will include what i have).   RARE OLD ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH VIOLA

A rare late 19th century french viola, JTL workshops circa , proposed for restoration. Today for restoration we propose this rare late 19th century french viola made in the JTL (Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy) workshops circa . The top is made of two pieces of spruce, and shows regular grain lines widening to the edges. The back is made of a single part of maple. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood. The varnish is of a beautiful red-brown colour, almost ruby. There is a repair on top under the left f hole, a few worm holes have been filled, and some unglued ribs, nothing serious. The viola bears on the inside back the "Celebre Vosgien" label, which was one of the first levels of JTL at the time. These early ones are always well made, the f holes have been carefully carved as well as the head.    A rare piece for a restorer! Body lenght: 400 mm. Insured shipping to US $90, and to EU $50.  Happy bidding!
